STAR WARS fans were left horrified in the 1970s when Mark Hamill suffered a brutal car crash that left his face badly damaged. The young star thought his “career was over”. George Lucas instantly got to work on an iconic scene that would explain away any changes to Luke Skywalker’s face, but it was cut out of The Empire Strikes Back.
