Ministers ‘ignored warning suicides would kill many more children than Covid’

Official briefings at SAGE meetings told decision-makers that ‘many more children will die from suicide than Covid’ – and that closing schools would likely have a ‘highly limited’ impact on transmission rates. Campaigners say this was one of nine opportunities the government missed to protect our children.
