‘The only thing he suffers from is ignorance’ Mum urges views on Down syndrome to change

DOWN syndrome is the name given to when a person is born with an extra chromosome. Linked to physical growth delays, mild to moderate intellectual disability and characteristic facial features, the condition has also been associated with negative preconceptions. One mum is looking to change that, with hope in the future the words ‘bad news’ and ‘Down syndrome’ will never be used in the same sentence again.
