Royal Albert Hall: Eightieth anniversary celebrates legacy of ‘music to lift souls’

THE building sometimes known as “the nation’s village hall” grew out of a royal relationship that revolved around music and love. The hall’s foundation stone was laid on May 20, 1867 by Queen Victoria.
