Cancel culture is everywhere: Conn Iggulden on the battle to bring his book to life

When I suggest to historical fiction author Conn Iggulden – whose recent bestsellers The Gates Of Athens and Protector bring the Greco-Persian Wars to life in brilliant detail – that this was a precursor to today’s so-called cancel culture, he roars with laughter: “You’re absolutely right! I hadn’t put those two things together but of course that’s what it is.
