Boris Johnson refuses to extend £20 Universal Credit uplift – poorest to lose £1,000 boost

UNIVERSAL CREDIT payments were temporarily increased by £20 per week earlier this year, in response to the coronavirus pandemic. With the rise only confirmed to last for one year, today, Prime Minister Boris Johnson was asked to commit to an extension.
