Cabaret’s real-life star ‘hated’ movie’s ‘anti-feminist’ portrayal

CABARET was released on this day, February 13, 50 years ago, in 1972. The film was based on the book The Berlin Stories, where the character Sally Bowles was first introduced by author Christopher Isherwood – but the real-life inspiration for Sally hated the character, calling it “anti-feminist”.
