IT WAS September 1972 and The Who had just performed at a giant festival outside Paris, organised for the French Communist Party and attracting around half a million people. Back at the five-star George V Hotel after the gig, Keith Moon had made a bet he could drink 19 margaritas and then sing Danny Boy on the piano.
