Macron on the brink: French interior minister resigns TWICE in less than 24 hours

EMMANUEL Macron has reluctantly accepted resignation of his close ally and interior minister less than 24 hours after he initially refused Gérard Collomb’s request to step down. Mr Collomb, 71, one of Mr Macron’s first and staunchest supporters, renewed his resignation request in an interview with French media after Mr Macron refused it on Monday.
