Madly, Deeply review: Rickman telling it like it was

There is an amusing moment in this collection of Alan Rickman’s diaries when he visits Cape Town. At the airport, a passport official notes his profession and tells him: “You look too serious to be an actor.” Indeed he did, which is partly why his performances always seemed both unique and authentic.
