No mop tops or slick suits in sight, incredible newly unearthed pre-fame pictures of the Beatles show four scruffy and skinny boys from Liverpool at the Cavern Club in 1961. In the very earliest days, Paul McCartney said John Lennon, “this strange Teddy boy off the bus”, only knew “a couple of chords.”
