The Zinoviev Letter – Gill Bennett: The everlasting conspiracy

For most people, the expression “fake news” is a modern term. It may be but the concept certainly isn’t. Fake news has hounded the Labour Party for almost a hundred years with the publication of the Zinoviev Letter just before the October 1924 General Election that saw them swept from power by the Tories.
