MARILYN MONROE died 60 years ago today. Before her famous marriages to Jo DiMaggio and Arthur Miller, the icon was forced into an engagement at 15. She came to love her first husband Jim, but Norma Jeane confessed “I didn’t know much about anything, especially sex.” Jim spoke beautifully later about a “beautiful girl” who was “too gentle” to survive Hollywood.
